The idea behind the project would be a first person shooter with multiple weapons which would be created through the 3D game engine unity.  The game would be online  through a LAN server and would require basic/advanced First person shooter mechanics created through the C# programming language then imported into the 3D game engine unity. There is no story as such, the game is more of a multiplayer prototype than anything else that would test Unity 5's, networking and see if it is possible for me to create an online game through the higher API of Unity.
Target Audience? (demographic NOT age range)
The target audience for my video game is specifically gamers who enjoy first person shooter games. Particularly teenage demographic. I believe it will apply to this demographic from personal experience me and my friends used to play FPS games when I was in highschool. 
How will your project meet the needs of your target audience?
The project itself will simulate  first person shooters that are an extremely popular type of video game according to various sources such as: http://www.gamefaqs.com/top10/2422-the-top-10-video-game-genres This means that the project should be a success since it is so popular in modern day gaming across multiple platforms. In recent years, first person shooters have found their success from triple AAA games such as call of duty and Battlefield. Whilst some indie games such as DayZ are also extremely popular to PC users (which is the platform I will be using for my Project aswell). Since every gamer has different preferences on what game they want to play it is hard for my project to appeal to a large target audience, however by selecting the 2nd most popular genre according to the graph below it is a very good starting point.

First person shooter is at a total of 20% of all best selling video game units sold in 2013, meaning my game will not only capture the target audience well but it will also capture a larger target audience.
What production techniques will you use to realise your project?
To create my project I will need to learn the C# programming language and standard formatting in unity in order to create systems for my game, for instance, I will be required to develop the players mechanics, gun fire mechanics, recoil, damage system, weapon cycling etc. The project itself will have the bog standard FPS mechanics with different and unique features. For the most part the game will be programmed with C# however if different languages provide and advantage over C# I may pick up JavaScript aswell. The Project will also need model/texture imports if I ever want to create decent graphics for my game.
